It is the "best" experience with a VM, but. And that is with almost everything disabled on Mac and Windows and only the SDRDuo plugged in directly. If I start taxing the USB connection by using the master/slave configuration and listen to two bands at the same time I get drop-outs. Kerr:Yes, I'm currently getting a similar experience.

As I am a software developer myself, I do honour licences since I live off them myself. I'm using Parallels and run Windows in a VM, you need a licence. 73 de Annard, it definitely is packet loss because it happens when I push the envelope. If people want more details, don't hesitate to reach out.
Very happy with the SDRPlay solution overall, with a simple YouLoop antenna I can listen to a lot of radio where my normal antenna fails with QRM.

I give Windows 4 processors, the GPU and 4GB of RAM, this is fine on a MacBook Pro 2015 still running Mojave.

The costs of the licence was the same as the upgrade I would have required for VMWare Fusion so that is not too bad.
Then I installed the latest version of Parallels and it works great, relatively stable and I can run macOS software at the same time (for instance send SDRuno output to Rogue Amoeba Loops and then to Black Cat's MultiMode Cocoa. Tried VirtualBox latest version but only worked with USB bulk transfer and not very performant overall. When I tried to do something on the Mac side whilst SDRuno was decoding DAB it would crash. Tried Fusion 12 with Catalina, again more stable but not good enough. Updated to Fusion 11, slightly better but not stable enough. I had a licenced copy of VMWare Fusion 10, it worked but the USB connection was not very stable. I have tried this on Mojave and Catalina versions of macOS. This may be of use to people who would like to run SDRuno with Windows running in a VM.
